Copy the compact payload as a native tensor of the stored dtype.

This visits only referenced payload entries and preserves the stored scalar dtype, so it is the dtype-generic payload bridge for compact storage.

Errors

Returns a BridgeError when the payload cannot be copied or the backend rejects the native tensor.
